Common Wood Nymph

Day 4

It was a cool and cloudy morning.
We were outside transplanting marigolds when
we saw a Common Wood Nymph
 fly into the Queen's Anne Lace.

We put our tools down. She is new to our backyard.
Only one brood a year.
They fly from June through September.
They are Summer butterflies.
We fell in love.

Day 3

I love butterflies.

The American Lady is lovely.

Raindrops

Day 2

I stood in a morning rain shower and watched the raindrops

wash the Morning Glories.
My face was refreshed by the morning rain.
I love summer rain.

Sunflowers

Last summer my friend became despondent.
Day after day of heat and no rain took its toll on her.
She wanted to fold up her gardens and put them away until Autumn. I understood.

Yet there were some aspects of summer I loved.
Once I began thinking about all my loves of summer
I realized I easily could name 95 loves, one for each day of the summer season. I made a list. I bought a journal.

 Today, on Summer Solstice, I shall begin sharing with you
 the 95 different aspects I love about Summer.

Day 1.
Sunflowers.
I love sunflowers.

To celebrate Summer 2012,
I have planted a sunflower garden.
I am growing lots of different sunflowers.

I am learning all I can about this most amazing plant.

I decorate with sunflowers in August but this year
I am decorating with sunflowers all summer!
 I hope to have sunflowers for my vases
and to dry for winter use.

I shall always have a sunflower garden now.

I want to frame a couple of photographs.

I have a three ring binder set up to record my sunflower
2012 experience.

I am listening to the sunflowers.

I love Sunflowers

Chamomile

I am smitten with chamomile.

I love the way it smells.

I love chamomile tea with a wee bit of honey.

I am not the only one who loves chamomile!

Gliders and Sweet Bay

I have a passion for the Sweet Bay Tree.

It should thrive in my herb garden all summer.
I will bring it in next winter.

We bought a glider for the back patio.
It is in the shade of the Ash tree.
We can sit, glide, hold hands and share kisses.
I am passionate for gliders and Sweet Bay.

Kisses

I am passionate for kisses.
The scientific term for kisses is osculation.
I am passionate for osculation.

Founding Father's Gardens

I feel in love with George Washington last week.

I am head over heels crazy for all the plantsmen that were in the Revolutionary generation.
